New Tomb Raider coming in 2012!

Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have announced a release window for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, which is still known simply as Tomb Raider, as part of Microsoft's E3 2011 press conference.

Square Enix is targeting an Autumn 2012 release window.

A new trailer and the first hints of gameplay were shown as part of the conference and, while we don't have video available yet, you can still check out the latest trailer below.

The gameplay section Crystal Dynamics showed at the conference involved Lara being chased through a network of underground passages, avoiding traps before emerging into the open.

The new Tomb Raider reboot sees Lara recast as a young woman out in search of adventure, but who ends up shipwrecked on a mysterious island with vicious inhabitants. Crystal Dynamics has described the game as a new origin story for the character.

Black Ops 2 rumored and DLC for Modern Warfare 3 revealed

It's looking increasingly likely that the next Call Of Duty will be a prequel to Black Ops, as Activision unveil their plans for Modern Warfare 3 downloadable content over the next few months.

Rumours that this year's Call Of Duty will be a sequel to 2010's Black Ops have received another shot in the arm after Activision were caught registering the website domain for Black Ops 2.

The move may simply be to frustrate cyber squatters (they've registered for everything up to Black Ops 6) but the most persistent rumours for the new game suggest that it is centred around the early career of the original game's CIA operative Frank Woods.

Officially nothing has been announced but it's widely believed that whatever this year's game is it'll be by Black Ops and World At War developer Treyarch. Other persistent rumours include a game with a near or far future setting, although a Black Ops follow-up has always seemed most likely.

Activision usually doesn't make an announcement about their next game until around April and for now they're concentrating solely on Modern Warfare 3's downloadable content.

In fact they've just announced the 'Modern Warfare 3 Content Season', which will start on January 24 for Call Of Duty Elite premium subscribers. They're not being too specific but there'll be at least '20 content drops' over the course of the next nine months.

Traditionally this has meant only new maps, but for the first time new Spec Ops missions, game modes and campaign extras are also being offered as downloadable content. The first download though will be just two ordinary maps: Liberation and Piazza.

Liberation is set in New York's Central Park (the map teased last month) and Piazza takes place in a seaside Italian village.

As usual the question of when exactly you can get hold of the content is a fairly complex one, with Xbox 360 owners having their usual one month drop on the PlayStation 3 and PC versions. Elite premium members will also get the content before anyone else and the January 24 date is only for them.

Non-members will have to wait until the smaller pieces of content are bundled up into a full size download, which isn't expected to happen until around March.

Razer's Project Fiona is a PC Gaming Tablet

It's a tablet, it's a PC, it's Project Fiona! Razer unveiled its latest concept gaming device at CES 2012 today, revealing a 10.1" tablet powered by an Intel Core i7 CPU and packing dual controllers.

Razer made a splash at CES 2011 with the Switchblade, a compact portable computer with a 7" display and a fully programmable tactile keyboard. While that concept device has yet to become a reality, Razer says it plans to quickly move forward with its proof of concept version of Project Fiona and have its PC gaming tablet ready for launch by the end of the year with an MSRP under $1,000. "This first-of-its-kind PC gaming tablet with integrated dual controllers is definitely not for playing casual games about unhappy birds or zombie-killing flora," Razer states.

Along with the full-force feedback dual controllers and Intel i7, Project Fiona is also THX certified for dolby 7.1 surround sound. Check the specs:

And while I would certainly feel goofy lugging that thing around, I'd sure like to take Project Fiona for a spin. Gathering a group of Fiona-equipped friends for some sitting-around-the-living-room online multiplayer could be a blast.

Most expected games of 2012

Like every start of the year, let’s look forward for the most expected game titles of this year!

The one that makes peoples hearts beat faster would be Diablo3. We can expect this game in Q1 of 2012. We look forward for the quests in the game and also how the story continues.
We hope it will be a “bangelijk” year for Blizzard Entertainment.

The second game we would like to get our hands on, will be Mass Effect 3. Unfortunatly this game will be the last of it’s series. But I’m sure that this will be a thrilling finale! Get your spacesuits on soldier!

Some other titles we can expect are Guild Wars 2, Bioshock Infinite, Borderworlds 2, Hitman Absolution and last but not least Brother in Arms: Furious 4!

Brothers in Arms with a suprising turn?

Who doesn't remember the Brothers in Arms franchise with their WWII shooters? Well here they are again with a new thrilling but yet it seems like a different approach. The game looks like a combination of Team Fortress 2 combined with some Left 4 Dead 2. What will it be? Pittyfull there is no gameplay footage of this game yet so we will have to wait but on the official BiA page we can read this:

SSX 2012 Delayed and First Look Gameplay Trailer

Electronic Arts has unveiled that SSX, the latest installment of the classic action snowboarding franchise in development at EA Canada, is due to be available on February 28th, 2012, in North America, and on March 2nd in the rest of the world, for Mac, PS3 and Xbox 360. Previously known as SSX: Deadly Descents, SSX will pit riders versus both mountain and man.

Players will explore the story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet. The team will travel the world to face the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them. From the peaks of the Himalayas, where the air is so thin that riders have to descend through the death zone at breakneck speeds to keep from blacking out, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, where a sunlit line is the only survival option when temperatures drop 50 degrees centigrade in the shade. And the mountain isn't the only danger players will face. In SSX, the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it. A new video is now available on youtube:

Every myth, legend, conspiracy theory, and folktale you've ever heard is true. Witches, vampires, Bigfoot, international conglomerates looking to control your life - they're all real, and you're one of a select few that has the power to do anything about it. That's the basic set up behind The Secret World, the upcoming MMO from Funcom. It's an ambitious project looking to shake up the genre with a modern-day setting and an atypical approach to character development. It's weird, funny, beautiful, and sure to make certain long-time MMO fans uncomfortable.

I recently got the chance to play through the first few hours of the Templar storyline of The Secret World. The Templars in London, who aim to deliver the world from evil by any means necessary, are one of three secret organizations you may join when you begin the game. The Seoul-based Dragons believe in the art of chaos, setting small events in motion that will eventually lead to bigger things. The Illuminati make New York their home, preferring to stay in the shadows and act as puppetmasters. The story missions of The Secret World are the thread through the first 150 hours or so of the game from your chosen faction's point of view.
